Earn Your Gold Star on Our Wall of Fame!

Your enthusiasm about the new space is inspiring and energizing our volunteers, staff, and Board members!
After a successful RElaunch of operations in Peabody, we have set our next goal - Sustainability in '17!

Thanks to Salem Five Bank, and their 29th Annual Salem Five Charitable Golf Tournament, we are now almost half way to our goal of raising $25,000 by December 31, 2016 to finish the calendar year on track!

We have a little over a month to pull it off, but I know we can do it with your help! Your support helps to adequately operate our two major programs, our Imaginarium Free Store, and our Waste Recovery Program, which you can read about below!

Remember, every $2 donated helps us to reach another child and offer their teachers supplies to keep them creative, inventive, and engaged!
Earn your own Gold Star on the Imaginarium Wall by helping us reach our goal, and continuing to support the Extras mission of helping children, helping the environment!

How many students and teachers can you support today?

Imaginarium

Helping Children

The Imaginarium is Extras' free store for members. Funds support staffing Extras to run our free store where teachers, cultural and community workers, and artists receive free materials to support their classrooms, programs, and projects.

Imaginarium Impact - The Imaginarium collectively saves our 650+ members over 1 million dollars per year in material costs, and provides their 150,000 students and clients with materials to create, innovate, learn, and play.

Major Goals for 2017 -

  1. Hire a part time staff person to adequately provide members' services at the front desk and free up our Executive Director to focus on sustainability efforts.
  2. Finalize mobile shelving in Imaginarium to create flexibility in space use to allow for events, space rental, and workshops.
  3. Create in-house educational programs for professional enrichment, children and families, and skill based workshops for artist.

Your donation will also help to:

  • Maintain operations
  • Add a bathroom and work sink so we can get our Extras Abled program back up and running!
  • Redo our website to add a member portal so you can see your membership status online

Waste Recovery Program

Helping the Environment

Our Waste Recovery program works with over 200 local businesses to redirect usable materials from the waste stream, and into our community programs and schools. Funds cover expenses to keep truck operating and insured, and staff to source and manage new materials.

Waste Recovery Impact - Our Waste Recovery Program works with over 200 individuals and businesses to save over 250,000 pounds per year from entering into the waste stream. This program supplies the materials for the Imaginarium, saves businesses tipping fee expenses, and helps to preserve our environment for future generations.

Major Goals for 2017 -

  1. Work with reuse industry professional partners and mentors to redefine our waste recovery program into a self sustainable program which reflects industry standards.
  2. Increase our material sourcing efforts to diversify materials and add an additional 20 new business partners over the calendar year.
Your donation goes a long way! On average, each student we reach costs the organization just $2.00 in operational costs.
How many students would you like to help today, and give the gift of creativity, ingenuity, and educational play, all while saving the environment?
